SCC Solutions, Inc. Fort Lauderdale, Florida - The Company announced today that the United Nations’ World Food Programme has extended it an invitation to bid on an important tender for a UN staff compound in Port au Prince, Haiti. SCCS, based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida had proposed its modular steel dormitory units to WFP Officials in Port au Prince shortly after the catastrophic earthquake in January. With estimates of more than three hundred thousand destroyed homes and buildings in Haiti, the UN’s assessment of their cluster responsibilities on the ground, quickly identified the critical need for storm resistant transitional housing for the Haitian population as well as safe and secure accommodations for its staff. The protracted recovery period will render typical transitional housing unacceptable through the hurricane season in the Caribbean.
Through its alliance with GDG Beton & Construction in Haiti and its extensive network of suppliers around the world, SCCS will develop a turn-key, rapid response solution for this critical United Nations effort.
